The SAV section involves researchers and professors engaged in research and innovation programmes in the fields of animal and veterinary sciences and brings together expertise in livestock management, nutrition and feeding, rural construction and mechanics, physiology and endocrinology, reproductive pathophysiology, parasitology, general and fish pathology, anatomopathology and immunology.

The Section's activities are geared towards supporting production chains that combine economic sustainability, respect for the environment, animal welfare and product quality, in order to regenerate rural areas and improve the quality of life. The Section is divided into five Research Groups, which boast collaborations within and outside the University.

The professors and researchers of the SAV Section also support the University of Udine's educational offerings, including:

  • the PhD course in Agricultural Science and Biotechnology

  • the School of Specialisation in Breeding, Hygiene, Pathology of Aquatic Species and Control of Derived Products
