The professors are supported in their institutional activities by research collaborators (research fellows, PhD students) and technical staff.
The areas of research concern:
Agricultural economics and rural estimation
- Economics of agri-food chains, consumers, food and beverages
- Regeneration of mountain territories, forest therapy, collective land management
- Solidarity economy, degrowth and common goods, international cooperation and university extension, social and one welfare agriculture
- Innovative and sustainable feed materials for fish species (by-products of the agri-food industry, from insects and/or other organisms with low trophic levels)
- Natural additives with nutraceutical properties to promote the welfare of farmed fish species
- Monitoring techniques to study the ecology of large, medium and meso carnivores, ungulates and birds of prey and techniques and strategies to reduce negative interactions between large and meso carnivores and human activities
- Strategies and techniques to improve coexistence between fauna and human activities
- Electroanalytical sensors/biosensors applied in terrestrial, aquatic environments and defined habitats
- Genome and transcriptome analysis with state-of-the-art techniques applied to animal sciences
