Research
The research activity is focused on virus and phytoplasma epidemiological studies. The aim is to improve control strategies against the most important phytoplasmoses. The techniques are based on biological assays in order to acquire more information about the mechanism of plant disease spreading. New molecular tools are developed for this purpose and for characterization and detection of plant pathogens.
New research field on biocontrol of fungal, bacterial and phytoplasmal diseases is under development.
Lab facilities
Greenhouse and screenhouse
Labs of molecular and serological analyses
Topics offered for thesis
- Biocontrol of psyllid phytoplasma-vector
- Biocontrol of root pathogens
